|"Thank you so much for making The Self-Destruction of Gia.
JJ Martin's profound, moving, brilliantly conceived and executed retrospective on Gia. The film so poignantly captures the trials and tribulations of the "fast lane" life style that Gia led and of course her predictably, horrific, tragic ending. Enclosed is a contribution to The Gia Carangi Foundation in the hope that it may help you in your fine efforts to try to spare others from the awful fate that ultimately befell Gia."

|"I saw The Self-Destruction of Gia at Outfest in Los Angeles . I am dying to be able to buy it on DVD. This film is incredible, all involved should be so proud."
|"I found the documentary to be riveting, I was surprised by how much I was on screen. Let me know when you release it on DVD, I must have a copy. I can't see it again at this moment because I'm starting to re-live it. JJ did an extraordinary job."
Best to all,
|"My name is Jackie and I'm 19. I just saw The Self-Destruction of Gia at Outfest in L.A. The movie by JJ Martin was extremely heartwrenching to say the least and way too profound for me to explain in any poetic way that does justice to the film. It not only gave me a whole other side to who Gia was, but it also made me see how incredibly tumultuous she made life for those around her towards the end. I guess I was naive or something, but I had no idea how the heights of her addiction and illness turned her into something truly unrecognizable, in spirit and physicality. The film also provided me with a beautiful insight into Gia's character. She possesed a combination of shy vulnerability, confidence, and a very cool seemingly playful dispostion. Anyone who sees this film will agree that JJ Martin does an extraordinary job portraying Gia in a real, human way that dignifies her image, and now legend. She was so much more than just a pretty face on a glossy magazine, so much more than just a heroin-addicted aids fatality, probaly more than anyone will ever know. I can't wait till this movie is released for sale. Fans of Gia might be a little shocked, but very impressed. Try to see this film. I personally am still reeling from it, Gia lives forever in everyone that has been touched by her story."
